Thoughts on seeing Shaykh Fawzaan give the Khutbah today

There was great happiness to see Shaykh Fawzaan رحمه الله give the Khutbah today at Jaamia Al Mu’tib in Malez, after hearing news he would stop because of illness. This is the example of our ulama and a confirmation of statement of The Prophet (ﷺ) when he said the scholars are inheritors of the Prophets, who did not leave back a dinar or a dirham— but that which they left was knowledge. So reflecting on this statement and the statement of Allah سبحانه و تعالى when he commanded The Prophet (ﷺ) with the order in Surat Al-Ĥijr “Worship your lord until certainty comes” (15:99), the scholars of tafsir mention that this certainty is death.

So seeing our father and Shaykh on the minbar today gives you an example of The Prophet (ﷺ) how he lived his life sacrificing through illness and weakness to make the word of Allah سبحانه و تعالى predominant. Another great lesson I took in today’s Khutbah was observing the attention of those present in listening to the Shaykh. Almost everyone’s eyes were glued to him and the feeling was that everyone was benefiting tremendously and have utmost respect for the Shaykh. This indeed is a type of success from only Allah سبحانه و تعالى, which He gives to those whom He chooses from His slaves. May Allahسبحانه و تعالى  preserve and continue to our Shaykh tawfeeq and long life. And may He make us from those who study and benefit from the likes of Shaykh Fawzaan and our other Salafi Ulama in different cities and places.
